Playtex $3 Coupon for Taking a Brief Survey on Facebook and $1 Playtex Printable.

I wrote to Henkel to tell them how much I love Borax and they sent me:

Writing to Maufacturers for Coupons: Writing to 5 Today! Join me?

A good way to get coupons is to write to the manufacturer of your favorite products.  Tell them how much you love their product.  If you family has a favorite flavor or type of their product, let them know.  Don't be afraid to ask for a coupon, especially if you don't see many coupons from the particular manufacturer.  Want to see the other great ways to get coupons?  Read my Post about it HERE.  I am writing to 5 manufacturers today in hopes of receiving some coupons.  Want to join me?

1. Chiquita Bananas:  Produce coupons are hard to find.  I got the idea to write them from TLC's Extreme Couponing Show. 

2. Beech Nut Baby Food:  Our baby loves their baby food and they don't put coupons out that often. 

3. Hunter Farms Milk and Sherbert:  I emailed Karin and told them how much our family enjoys their milk and especially their Raspberry sherbert. 

4. Breyers: We love their Natural vanilla Ice Cream!  No other brand can compare!  My daughter also loves their new product, YoCrunch Parfaits! 

5. Daisy Sour Cream: We love their sour cream, but I haven't seen any coupons for it lately.

Harris Teeter Shopping Trip 4/9/11

Here is what I bought yesterday at HT: 

I separated my items into two transactions so I could get Free Milk with the Kellogg's deal (now expired).

Total Spent:  $46.97 PLUS I earned 2 Free Milk (up to $3.59) Catalina Coupons.  I already used one of them.

Total Saved (with coupons and VIC specials): $69.93.  This was 60% Savings!  This was not, by any means, my best shopping trip (some items weren't on sale), but I thought it was worth sharing considering the high priced items I purchased (2 Pampers, 2 bottles of Tide, and 7 boxes of cereal).  Regular price of the Pampers and Tide alone would have been about $38.00!

Coupons I had that aren't available now: $1/1 Wholly Guacamole, $1/1 minute Maid OJ, and .75 off Kraft Singles.  Other than these 3 coupons, the rest of the coupons were from Sunday paper coupon inserts or you can print the coupons HERE.  Go HERE to see the Harris Teeter/Grocery deals. 

Two important things I have learned from couponing:
1. If you have the opportunity to print a high value coupon for a product you know you will use, DO IT while it is available!  Companies have print limits and once these are reached, the coupon is not available anymore.

2. Hang onto your coupons if an item is not on sale right then.  Usually, the item will go on sale within a few weeks and you will get a better deal.  Shop for items on sale WITH a coupon to maximize your savings!

 Thanks Chrissy S. for sharing this deal!  Tide is on sale for $5.99 at Harris Teeter right now.  Use the $3.00 coupons from last Sunday's Proctor and Gamble insert to get a bottle for $2.99!  The wording on the coupon is confusing to me, but this coupon is working for regular bottles of Tide laundry detergent.  Happy Shopping!
